Communication and Delivery of Services
At Almquist Law, we strive to provide the highest quality legal services at a reasonable cost to clients. For that reason, we have adopted technologies and procedures that facilitate communication and delivery of services in the most efficient and economical way possible.
Central to this strategy is our clients' access to a secure private Client Portal by which we deliver documents (letters, memos, contracts, leases, etc.) all in one secure place, organized by category. Clients receive email notifications when documents are available for review or download. Documents need no longer be printed, mailed, delivered, filed, and archived in a warehouse document repository. We maintain electronic copies of documents and provide clients with 24/7 access to their documents for an indefinite period of time (but, in no event, less than five years). For safe-keeping, redundant copies of documents are securely kept locally, as well as online.
We aspire to be "paper free", and virtually all incoming and outgoing documents are created, digitized/scanned, transmitted, and stored electronically (both locally and online).
Our Client Portal also includes a messaging function which is more secure than common email applications, and which allows clients to communicate with us concerning a particular matter in one place, rather than searching through paper documents, email, text messages, etc.
Documents can now be filed and searched online with the Courts, the Corporation Commission, the Secretary of State, county recorders, and other government or administrative bodies.
Legal research (which once required access to huge physical law libraries) can now be conducted online from any computer anywhere in the world.
In a effort to make communication with clients and others efficient and cost-effective, we encourage telephonic conferences. However, in many cases, there are benefits to "face-to-face" conversation. For that reason, for situations that warrant it, we encourage video conferences. A video conference facilitates a "face-to-face" conversation and all the benefits that go along with it, without the associated time, cost and expense. We also create and submit our our invoices electronically. Clients have the option to pay online (which we encourage) or to mail a paper check to us.
